Physical challenges are second nature to Claire. She has walked the length of Hadrian's Wall form Carlisle to Newcastle in two days, the 106 mile Cotswold Way in three days, cycled across Wales in a weekend and this year she sailed across the Atlantic. She has also been far north before, having cycled 700 km up to the Northern Cape in Norway. She is a chiropractor based in the Cotswolds and Wexford in Ireland and what appeals to her about the Arctic is the unique vastness of ice as well the noise which the ice will make. The Relay is the first time that she has encountered so many women all with the same outdoor adventurous spirit and indeed is the first time that she has been part of an all- female expedition team.
