Juliette's motivation for joining the Relay is principally those of personal achievement and her to desire to learn about the world through first-hand experiences. A business development officer from Surrey, who is married with a baby son, she describes herself as a passionate environmentalist and has travelled a lot to unusual places. The Arctic appeals to her in particular because it remains out of reach for most people. It is also an environment in which her survival will depend on her own strength as well as that of her team-mates and she feels that this element of self-reliance will only heighten the experience and sense of achievement.
