Karen Bradburn   Age 37
Karen attributes her drive and determination principally to her relationship with her elder brother whom she idolised as a child. She would rise to any challenge that he set her and grew to love the sense of achievement which it offered. When she read about the Relay, she could not resist the opportunity of proving herself once again and this time it is her brother who is green with envy! She is a Geordie and lives with her husband in Manchester from where she commutes to Heathrow to work as an air stewardess. She has seen the Arctic many times on long haul flights and was the first to bring back reports of the weather conditions at our base camp in Resolute Bay.
