Mary Nicholson   Age 37

Married to Pen Hadow since June '95, Mary is one of the UK's leading media relations specialists, and is behind the publicity of the project. Mary says she does not envy the girls at all in temperatures of -35C and she much enjoyed her honeymoon with Pen in St Tropez.

Pen and Mary live at Hexworthy in Central Dartmoor with their dog, 'Baskerville', two horses and two cats. While Pen is away on his Arctic travels, for the few moments she is not tied to her desk Mary endeavours to improve her riding skills. Pen expects to see a full board of rosettes on his return in June.
