Rose Agnew   Age 50
Rose came to England from Wolfsburg, near Hanover, twenty-five years ago. She is a teacher at a girls comprehensive school in South East London and is married with three grown up children. A keen Club runner, when she heard about the expedition, she knew at once that this was the moment she had been waiting for. She sees the Relay as her big chance to prove herself and says that she knows now why she has trained so hard over the years and kept so fit. While she sits in a blizzard-swept tent on the Arctic Ocean, she also plans to learn all the words in a songbook she was given as a child.
