Victoria considers her mother, Sue to be her closest friend. Whilst she sometimes finds it difficult to live up to her, she loves a physical challenge and is prepared to consider doing anything just to say that she has done it. She has been a member of the OTC and the TA but left to pursue other interests, such as running a careers course for school-leavers in Newcastle every year. A recruitment consultant living in South West London, she is blamed by her family for having got her mother involved but she points out that had the expedition been organised ten years ago, she would have been hard pushed to prevent her grandmother coming as well!
